Thank so much to the person that sent these pictures of me giving my toast to James. Sorry that my brain has not retained the memory of who it was.

My Toast to James

I watched Buffy from the beginning because of Anthony Head. Later the character of Spike burst on the scene, brought to life by an extremely talented actor by the name of James Marsters. I had to know who this actor was and found your fandom. In that fandom I found the majority of people who just enjoy the fun, but I also found a small group of people that think it is their right to judge and criticize you.

I don’t know the real you. I only see you for brief periods of time, in which you are mostly on your best behavior. I take you at face value. I do not have the time nor the ability to figure out what you are not showing me, nor is it any of my business. Your talent, passion and enthusiasm and your choice to change your life and career path to raise your niece are the reasons I am an overage fangirl, and will stay one.

Because of you, James, I have traveled to places I would have had no reason to otherwise. I met interesting, smart, funny, creative and nice people from all over the world. Many of these people I consider friends and I hope they consider me a friend also.

Thank you for enriching my old age. As Spock would say “May you live long and prosper.”
